Jeff Smith (1939 - 2004) was a former Methodist minister who became one of America's most beloved food television personalities in the 1980s and 1990s. His weekly PBS program, The Frugal Gourmet, ran for 11 seasons and produced 261 episodes. Smith authored numerous bestselling cookbooks, including Recipes from The Frugal Gourmet, The Frugal Gourmet Cooks with Wine, The Frugal Gourmet Cooks American, and The Frugal Gourmet Celebrates Christmas.
Some episodes of The Frugal Gourmet were available on Hulu, but have since been removed. There are currently no official releases, apart from some VHS copies produced in the 1980s and 90s. Some episodes have been uploaded to YouTube by fans of the show, but are not official releases by the copyright holders.
